Go to Editorial ManagerAl-Nahrain Journal for Engineering Sciences (NJES) is fully committed to the principles of Open Access. We believe that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and fosters innovation in engineering sciences.
1. Immediate Free Access NJES provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
No Embargo: All articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication.
No Subscription: Readers do not need a subscription, registration, or payment to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles.
2. Licensing (CC BY-NC 4.0) All articles published in NJES are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0). Under this license, authors and readers are free to:
Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Conditions: The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms, which include:
Attribution: Giving appropriate credit (citation), providing a link to the license, and indicating if changes were made.
Non-Commercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
3. Copyright Retention Unlike traditional journals where authors transfer copyright to the publisher, in NJES:
Authors retain the copyright to their work.
Authors grant NJES a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
Because authors retain copyright, they are free to use their own article in future works (e.g., books, lectures) without seeking permission from the journal.
4. Self-Archiving Policy NJES encourages authors to maximize the visibility of their research. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories, on their personal website, or on platforms like ResearchGate) at any stage:
Pre-print: The version before peer review.
Post-print: The accepted manuscript.
Version of Record: The final published PDF with the journal's branding.
5. Benefits of Open Access for Authors Publishing Open Access with NJES offers several advantages:
High Visibility and Impact: Articles are freely available to a global audience, leading to higher download rates and increased citation potential.
Compliance: Meets the open-access mandates of major funding institutions and universities.
Rapid Dissemination: Research is available online as soon as it is processed in our quarterly issues.
