Al-Nahrain Journal for Engineering Sciences (NJES) is a specialized, open-access academic journal dedicated to evaluating and publishing high-quality scientific research in engineering. Owned and published by the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, NJES serves as a platform for researchers to share innovative findings and contribute to the global engineering knowledge base.

Aims and Scope NJES is committed to publishing the scientific output of researchers across the full spectrum of engineering disciplines. The most significant criteria for accepting papers are scientific excellence and integrity.

We welcome submissions in the following fields:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Computer Engineering

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering

  • Communications and Information Technology

  • Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering

Publication Frequency NJES is a quarterly publication (issued four times a year). All papers are published in English, with titles and abstracts also provided in Arabic for native Arabic speakers.

Peer Review Process To ensure the highest standards of quality, NJES follows a rigorous double-blind peer review policy.

  • The Editorial Board meets monthly to oversee the progress of submitted papers.

  • Reviewers are selected based on their specialized subject matter expertise relevant to each specific paper.

  • The decision to approve or reject a paper relies on the reviews of these selected professional reviewers and the final approval of the Editorial Board.

Indexing and Membership NJES is dedicated to global visibility and ethical publishing practices.

History and Ownership The journal was founded in 1988 under the jurisdiction of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad, Iraq.

  • Archives: All issues of the older journal title (up to Vol. 19, Issue 2) are available in our archives.

Editorial Board The NJES Editorial Board consists of distinguished faculty members from Al-Nahrain University and various international universities. They are supported by an advisory board comprising experts from Iraqi and foreign universities, most of whom hold the scientific titles of Professor or Assistant Professor.
